How to find a good travel nursing agency.
Today travel nursing has become one of the US fastest growing professions and it's no surprise really. But many nurses have shied away from the traveling profession as they have had a bad experience with a travel nursing agency and thus left them with nothing but a negative impression of this type of work. They may have been underpaid or not had enough benefits and because of this many nurses find themselves jumping from one agency to the next in order to try and find the perfect travel nursing job. But when choosing an agency to help you find that right position you need to consider the 4 following items. 1. Salary There are some agencies which offer noticeably higher rates if they expect to fill certain assignments for example where the nurse to patient ratio is very low or where a facility has patients with extreme needs. So if you are a nurse that is attracted to positions with high wages then be alert that you may be entering a potentially desperate situation and also the workload that it may entail. You may be making more money but you will earn every dollar that you make or more. Also location plays an important factor in the salary a travel nurse earns as some places may be more expensive to live in than others. 2. Benefits 3. Customer Service 4. Featured Locations Unfortunately not every travel nursing agency will be able to provide you with opportunities to travel the world.
