A brief explanation as to what RN Nursing is.

Defined Tag:

Today in the US RN Nursing constitutes the largest health care occupation with more than 2.4 million jobs, so about 3 out of 5 jobs in a hospital are RN Nurses. It is also projected that Registered Nurses (RN's) are to create the second largest number of new jobs among all occupations. Whilst job opportunities in most specialties and employment settings are also deemed to be excellent and some employers are actually experiencing difficulties in not only recruiting but retaining the RN's they already have.

A Registered Nurse regardless of which field of specialty or setting that she works in will perform basic duties. This includes treating patients, educating patients as well as the public about various medical conditions. They will also provide patients and their family members with advice and emotional support as and when required. They are also required to record a patient's medical history and the symptoms with which they are suffering. They also help to perform diagnostic tests and then analyze the results. They should be qualified to operate medical machinery, as well as administer treatment and medications and finally help the patients follow up and rehabilitation work.

Many RN's will teach their patients and their families how to manage the illness or injury and this will include post treatment home care as well as diet and exercise programs. They will also teach them about self administration of medication and physical therapy. Whilst other RN's may decide to train in order to provide grief counseling for the family members of critically ill patients.

In fact you will soon discover that RN nursing is about promoting general health awareness to the public by educating them on the various warning signs and symptoms of diseases and where they should go if they need help. Some RN's may also run general health screening and immunization clinics, blood drives as well as public seminars.

So as you can see from above RN nursing is not simply about caring for the patients but it involves a number of other subjects and if you would like to learn more then why not carry out a search on the internet to see what you can find.
